Automated Life text alerts: terms
Program
Automated Life is personal software run by William Rains that monitors their own computer and services. Its text-message program sends automated system alerts to people who opted in themselves on the Automated Life dashboard: the owner, and a small number of people the owner knows personally. It isn't a commercial service and sends no marketing.
Messages
Alerts that a monitored service went offline or came back online, that a backup failed, that a reminder you set is due, or that a notification is waiting in your email, plus a one-time confirmation code when you sign up. Messages never include personal, client or health information.
Frequency
Message frequency varies, up to 10 messages a day.
Cost
Message and data rates may apply, under your mobile plan.
Opting out
Reply STOP to any message to stop all texts. You'll get one message confirming you've been unsubscribed. You can also turn texts off on the dashboard. Reply START to opt back in.
